The first of some fun, typographic design. I love the way the letters flow and erode down the page. I tried to think about each letter as a drop of water and I angled the letters to reflect movement and direction. The quote, "Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep" is by Scott Adams. To embody the quote in the art, the mistake I embraced in this piece is advancing and receding color. I let the dark of the watercolor contrast against the white of the page to pull forward. It breaks the rules but also allows for the letters to appear as if they are also eroding the color away. I had a great time creating this piece and hope you enjoy!
